Getting a Picky Eater to Eat!

(First thing first, I was not sponsored to write this post. I bought this item myself and these are my own views)

My son, who is 6, is very bad with food. For YEARS he has only eaten peanut butter sandwiches, cheerio cereal with milk, strawberries and chicken nuggets for EVERY meal. There were times he would even stop eating some of those foods and would only eat peanut butter sandwiches; morning, noon and night, I kid you not!!

We tried doing a taste test for different foods; I made a chart of the food he was trying and got him to describe the taste while I wrote it down. We tried a reward chart; for every new food he tried. We tried the not leaving the table until you have eaten all your food. We tried time outs. You name it, we tried it. I have tried and tried introducing new foods to him, but he is so strong minded. Once he didn’t like the look, the texture or smell of the food, he was not going to give in.

One day I was at my wits end, stressing myself out that he will be a 40 year old man still eating peanut butter sandwiches and refusing to eat any other food.

I saw this Fred Dinner Winner Kids’ Dinner Tray and decided to give it a go. This tray has changed my life, my stress and my worry about his eating habits. My son that only ate 4 different foods now has eaten pasta, corn, peas, cheese, lettuce, spinach, turnip, broccoli, cauliflower, ham and mashed potatoes. He didn’t like everything, but he did try them without it causing world war.

I started him off with 1 new food at a time and only gave him a small amount of it. I wanted to see if he liked that new food first before encouraging him to eat more of it. Since I know he is not going to like everything. But once I could see he was not spitting out the new food or trying to get sick from it, the next day I tried him with the same new food with a slightly larger amount than I gave him the first day. By about the 4th or 5th time, eating the same new food, he knew then he liked it. We are still using this tray daily introducing new foods but now he can eat from a regular plate the foods he now knows he likes (its more than the previous 4 foods) without tears or roars.

This tray has definitely, changed my son’s eating habits for the better and I want to tell anybody who has or knows anyone with a picky eater in the house that this tray is a game changer.

I cannot praise this tray enough; it really has helped my son try new foods that I know he would never have tried before.

I am now no longer worried about him only eating peanut butter sandwiches.

Head on over here to check it out!
